  • An Endorsed Midwife is a Registered Midwife who undergoes further study and training to become endorsed with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to prescribe Schedule 2, 3, 4 & 8 medicines.

    Endorsed midwives, sometimes called private practice midwives, can order blood tests and ultrasounds if required, and will do so in collaboration with your GP/ Obstetrician.
    Services from an Endorsed Midwife also attract Medicare rebates.

Our Endorsed Midwife will contact you for a FREE phone consult to discuss packages and pricing, and help you select the best care option for you and your family.

  • We couldn’t be more stoked that you are giving the gift of postpartum support to your friend! In our ‘store’ you can purchase Gift Cards which can be used towards all of our services. If you would like to purchase a Gift Card for a specific value that is not available, please contact us and we can assist with this.

  • Because our services are offered by Endorsed Midwives, all services attract a Medicare rebate. At the completion of care from Pause, you will be emailed an invoice which you can provide to Medicare to claim your rebate. The rebate value varies between individuals based on whether or not you have reached your Medicare Safety Net. While we can’t predict the exact amount you will be refunded, from experience each postnatal visit may attract rebates of approximately $60-80.

  • All of our postpartum appointments are held in the comfort of your own home. We value the importance of rest in those early days and understand the challenges of getting out of the house and sitting in waiting rooms.

    Please note, based on your location a small travel fee may be applied to each service, this will be discussed at time of booking.

  • As of November 1, 2024, GP referrals are no longer a requirement for Medicare when accessing our services - yay! We are so excited that this is no longer a barrier for women accessing private midwifery care.

  • Knowing that postpartum can throw you some unexpected challenges, we will always do our best to accept last minute bookings where we can. Please get in touch via our ‘Contact Us’ page.

    When purchasing ongoing care packages (e.g. Nurtured, Guided) you will have access to our Endorsed Midwife via text support (between 9am-5pm) for the duration of your care. Phone appointments are scheduled by your Endorsed Midwife.

    Unfortunately we do not offer a 24/7 on-call service, if you have urgent medical concerns please contact your primary healthcare provider. In the case of a medical emergency, please dial ‘000’.
